Time Out says

As befits cocktail progenitor Sasha Petraske’s liquid legacy, the drinks at this clubby, low-ceilinged Village rathskeller are nigh perfect. If you choose to deviate from the menu, just give the neatly attired, polite bartenders a base liquor and a hint of your mood, and they can tailor a drink on the fly. A call for rye got us a spot-on Italian twist on a Manhattan, featuring maraschino liqueur, Carpano Antica vermouth and amaro. Custom-made cocktails—no password or secret handshake required.

Difficult to find unless of course there's a massive line outside. Not great for large groups, even if you're able to be seated right away, its very very tiny down here and gets warm fast. Cash only! I didn't love the drink I got but would be willing to try it again.

Even though finding this bar can feel like finding a needle in a haystack, it's absolutely worth going to. You'll be able to find the entrance thanks to the small silver plaque on the door, and once you head down the basement-esque stairs you'll be greeted with some of the best cocktails in NYC.  Don't bring a large group here, as they probably won't even fit in the establishment, and if you're only with 1 or 2 people you'll be okay with either getting drinks from the bar or waiting some time for a table.

Little Branch has the strongest julep I've ever tasted, along with some amazing mulled cider that can warm up any cold NYC heart. It's cash only, but if you head to the schezuan restaurant across the street before descending into Little Branch, they'll happily let you use their ATM. Happy drinking!

If you catch this place at the right time it is amazing! If you don’t manage to get a table it can be a little tight be around the bar, that said the drinks are still amazing and it is a pretty cool setting. If you go there from Thursday to Saturday expect there to be a line, this place is at its best on quieter nights though in my opinion, where you can hide away in one of the booths enjoying their amazing cocktails for a few hours
