Time Out says

A cartoon dog portrait hanging on Bedford Avenue marks this canine-friendly watering hole. Twenty on-tap beers from Allagash and Ommegang and a full bar keep patrons happy, while pooches frolic off-leash in the brick-tiled courtyard. Space is tight inside, but a jukebox spinning classics by Bob Dylan and George Jones and a long shuffleboard table offer comfort.

THERE ARE DOGGOS HERE! Everyone is super friendly and their dogs are amazing. Great beer list, nice outside area if the weather is right.

If you like beer, and dogs, and drinking beer with dogs around, this is your place.  Small inside bar and midsize outdoor patio.  Great vibe and all dogs, at least the night I went, got along.  You can order food to be delivered there as they only have chips to snack on.  Petting dogs throughout the night is a bonus and its tough not to walk out smiling.

With or without the dogs I would grab a drink at Lucky Dog (but the dogs are a major bonus). I love the dive bar feel - super casual. The juke box, shuffle board table and backyard give the space a lot of energy. The drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is chill. The location is also super convenient, very close to the Bedford L.

I went to a dog birthday party here (and believe it or not we weren't the only dog party going on on a Friday night) and I can't complain. In my opinion, dog owners are the best kind of people, so what could be bad about a bar with dogs AND dog people. My pup loved the attention he got, and I got to pet quite a few dogs throughout the night. The bartenders and bouncers are always very chill and super accommodating to dogs and dog people. No food, so we ordered a pizza and at it at a booth while our pups wandered. Pretty divey, but what can you expect from a bar that lets mans best friend wander around. I always leave saying "why do non-dog bars even exist?"

Dogs and drinks - need I say more? Even in the colder months (and by cold I mean autumn because I'm "that guy"), Lucky Dog is the best place to hang out on a weekend night.  Aside from the dogs that run around (which are the best), there's a shuffleboard table inside and the drinks are well-priced, making it easy to have a great night without hopping from bar to bar. They don't offer food, but if you get peckish it's easy to run across the street to Vanessa's and then come back.

Open backyard with plenty of seating? Check.

Lucky Dog is everything Brooklyn rolled up into one. It's got the dive-y bar attitude with a laid back exterior. And c'mon, who doesn't want to get drunk and just play with dogs?

The Diet Coke @ Lucky Dog was excellent and may have actually been a Diet Pepsi but ether way it left me satisfied.

The vibe at Lucky Dog is off the hook and the bartender was stacked. They have an outdoor patio, two His & Her cans and a shuffle board table for all you people that feel the need to be competitive and drunk at the same time.

The bar is frequented by some real hip characters and is a great destination for all you bearded bachelors out there looking for a place to bring your lady, a lady or meet a bitch..... They often mistake me for a hipster when I am hanging out at Lucky Dog and I am not a hipster.

I just play one sometimes when I am trying to get laid.
