[title]
Though it has lofty ambitions (a craft beer list, good-on-paper cocktails), this Greenpoint gastropub fails to fulfill its potential. Don’t bother with the amateurish mixed drinks, including an overdiluted Manhattan’s Manhattan (Rittenhouse rye, Carpano Antica, Peychaud’s Bitters) and a saccharine Campari All Night (Campari, rum, Lillet Blanc and an absinthe rinse). The kitchen was equally clumsy: Our grilled-cheese–and-eggplant sandwich never warmed enough to melt the filling. Though the old-timey interior makes for a pleasurable atmosphere to pass a few hours with a glass of wine or a beer, if you’re looking for anything beyond the basics, you’d be wise to park it elsewhere.
