Union Square’s dark lounge is outfitted with handsome walnut walls and a room-length oak bar plus an eardrum-piercing retro-rock and hip-hop soundtrack. After work, lawyers and bankers congregate on the tile floor to slap backs and sip fishbowl-size dirty martinis delivered by efficient, little-black-dress–clad waitresses. Ties are loosened pretty quickly in this Scotch-and-soda crowd.
