The concrete-steel postindustrial look is more Milan than Bangkok, but the folks at the bar are definitely scruffy Brooklynites, and they’ve turned an inexpensive Thai restaurant into one of the Northside’s longer-running hits. There’s also a smaller satellite bar around the corner at the Berry Street entrance. Either place is a pleasant spot to pass the time with a Thai Singha or the borough’s own Brooklyner Dunkel-Weisse. The fountain (a leaky rowboat suspended from the ceiling) is soothing, as are the smooth deejayed sounds.
