From after-work drinks to killing time around Times Square, this subterranean surf shack is a solid card to play when faced with all manner of midtown conundrums. Though there’s kitsch aplenty, including colorful bathing suits strung up on the walls, the under-the-radar drinkery has its bona fides in order: Classic surf bands warble over the speakers, six wave-bashing flicks (including Endless Summer) play on loop, and friendly barkeeps serve the type of dangerously drinkable quaffs you’d expect at an oceanside watering hole. Sample a bright array of rhum arrangé (house-infused rums), or cool off with the “frozen Corona”—a grown-up slushie with beer, vodka, triple sec and lime.

This is the best Times Square bar I've been to. It's not overpriced, not packed with tourists, and whether you come here with friends, co-workers, or as a date - it's a fun spot. The theme is fun and the entrance gives the bar a dive-y feel.  Definitely stop by for happy hour and plan to hang out for a while.

Enjoy beach food from around the top surf towns at this location!!! Owners were surfing enthusiasts that traveled round the world to catch the best waves. From there they thought to open an international surf town top foods location & NYC was the lucky home. A great selection of drinks & great foods to nosh on. Something for any taste bud since you have the taste of the worlds all under one roof. My fav...but than again...it's my favorite food.....is the tater tots!!! Def recommend with a beer as you sit down at take in all the surf town decor. This is a great spot for happy hour in the heart of midtown!!! It's always bumping!!!

Want to escape the hell that is Midtown for happy hour? Search for the yellow surf board that marks this divey underground surf bar. This is the place to be for you and your coworkers to hang ten. Happy Hour runs 5:30-8pm but get there early, gets packed by 6:30pm. $3-4 beers, $5-6 frozen cocktails and $3 'acid drop' shots! Soak that all up with their $5 DODO Dogs (pork belly on a beef frank topped with iceberg slaw) and Reunion Fries (sprinkled with Jamaican seasoning and cheese!) Pop music plays fairly loud and crowd is a mix but leans towards millennials born in the 90s. Get ready to get ridiculous at Reunion!

I have been here a few times for my university alumni events, and let me tell you I love this place. They really did go all out on the theme, between the decorations, the drink options, and just about the entire vibe of the bar. You can easily forget that you are in the middle of NYC when you wind up here.

Remember that part in The Lion King where Simba asks about the "shadowy place" and Musafa tells him he must never go over there? That's how I feel when friends are in town and want to grab a drink "near Times Square". In this barren wasteland of "Irish pubs" and hotel bars, Reunion sticks out as an "if you must" option.

Located somewhere between Port Authority and the Bubba Gump Shrimp company, this is a part of town you should really never find yourself unless dragged by a friend/Tinder date. But if you do find yourself over here, Reunion is not a bad option.

They sport a solid happy hour, especially on Tuesday's (only day I've been) with their surprisingly tasty $4 tacos (tried all 4, can't go wrong). And even at full price their drink menu won't break the bank (several beers are $5 including the house pilsner and house IPA).

And I was going to give it 3 stars until I remembered that they hang a sign that says "NO BUD LIGHT", and immediately had to bump that up.

A favorite spot in the hell that is Hell's Kitchen. Try ordering one of their house infused rums on the rocks for only $5 - delicious, and will get the job done. Their take on mozzarella sticks - Shacked Cheese - is a must order every time. And the tachos are a late night guilty pleasure. If you can hit it up at a time when it's not packed (early or late), the food/drinks/service are all excellent.

Service is great, drinks are great and the food is great. That being said the place has a laid back ambiance and crowd. It's a good place to hang with friends or make new ones. A must try on Taco Tuesday's.

Great drinks! and on Taco Tuesday night definitely try their $3 Tacos- they are super yummy!

Let's face it, good bar options this close to Times Square are few and far between. Reunion is a classic basement dive bar with a fun, laid back surfer theme. It's worth a stop for a beer or beachy cocktail.
