This year, New York’s rooftop bars at standing ready to satisfy once again—there are dozens of fabulous, unique garden wonderlands high above the city just waiting for you and your squad. To celebrate rooftop garden drinking season (known as “summer” to some), we teamed up with Hendrick’s to check out three stunning high-altitude garden bars in the city. Each is offering a little something special this summer...
The first name in elevated drinking in this city, Gallow Green is a buzzy, in-demand garden utopia atop the McKittrick Hotel (which you know from a little bit of immersive theater called Sleep No More). This season, expect great American eats (grilled asparagus salad with pancetta!) and fancy themed cocktails and punch bowls.
Gin? In a Mojito?! Hold up a secone and: Hear. Us. Out. 230 Fifth is all about innovation, and their dazzler of a summer cocktail—the gin-based mojito—is no exception. Not only is gin a seamless, ingenious sub-in in the usually rum-based drink, but they’re growing their own mint leaves on the roof here. That’s rooftop-to-table boozing right there, and we’re loving it.
This Manhattan favorite will officially kick off its summer rooftop season on May 20 (but psst, you can head up right now if you like). And they’re kicking off the season in some pretty grand style: Head to Refinery on Saturday May 20 and just $25 will get you a drink, a plate (there’s a pork roast—boom!) and tons of fun in the early summer sun.
