Time Out says

The dark-stuff pros from Whiskey Town and Whiskey Brooklyn are behind this New York–inspired watering hole. The bar serves cocktails like the Downtown Tea (raspberry vodka, triple sec, iced tea and lemon) and six on-tap brews, including Guinness, Blue Moon and Brooklyn Lager. After throwing down the joint's signature Spicyback—a whiskey shot with a pepper-infused pickle-juice chaser—snack on a bowl of bacon, served with maple syrup and blue-cheese dressing. Wednesday nights feature the acoustic sounds of local musicians, a mellow reprieve from the weekend's DJ-spun Top 40 playlist.

Best Bar by Far.  Best Staff.  You walk in and feel at home.  Fabulous music, a little dancing and a little singing all in between pickle backs.  Love you guys and see you soon

What is not to love? They play great music, everyone has so much fun and I also like that it's sort of in the middle of nowhere bar-wise, there aren't other bars like that around so when you're there, you're pretty much there for the night which makes it really easy and fun and great for friends to meet other friends!

The Whiskey Tavern is one of the best bars in NYC. Great staff, great food, and great environment! Whiskey Rob will take care of you and your group as if you were family. The fun, friendly, and safe environment is sure to satisfy you taste for Whiskey (and everything else), and your desire for fun. This is a "must do" if you're in Manhattan.

First time going to New York was earlier this year. Had a brief scare when my S/O and I were separated with no phone at night. Discovered this Tavern and Sean Graves made our entire night so much better. From the Big Bear hugs and listening to our storyand telling us anecdotes to giving us great tips on food and locals to visit. I most definitely rate this a 5 star place to have a great time with complete strangers. We even received a send off farewell from the patrons of the bar.

This is the best bar in the City. Friendly to locals and visitors, always a weird time!

By far, Whiskey Tavern is one of the greatest bars in all the 5 boroughs, not just Chinatown. Personality, Location, Atmosphere and the Staff get 5 STARS. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best Bartenders! Make you feel right at home the minute you walk in door! Atmosphere is fun and relaxed! Even though there is a ton of strangers in one bar, you all are family! People just connect and you walk out with 5 -10 more friends than you had when you walk in! Also the food is kick ass!!! It has been my #1 bar in the city and I've recommend it to all my friends and family who have also made it their home!!!! LOVE WHISKEY!!!

Love Whiskey Tavern...the staff are professionals but remain fun-oriented & friendly. The food is tasty & the Coronas are frosty.

Great atmosphere, pickle backs, inexpensive food/drinks, pickle backs, flaming things, pickle backs, and the best bar staff in the city! They really go all out to make you feel special for any occasion.

The positive, high energy is contagious! The staff goes above and beyond to make it a night (or day) to remember, no matter what the occasion!

Whiskey Tavern is one of my favorite places to go on the weekends or for a nice night out during the week. They always have great specials and their atmosphere is fun. It’s also the perfect place to take a date. The food is pretty standard fare, and is good, but nothing incredible. Mostly, its just a great place to drop into on the way home from work, watch the game or catch up with friends. The prices are reasonable as well, so you won’t have to empty your wallet to have a good time. NYC could do with a lot more places like this.
