Little Dragon; Brooklyn Bowl, Williamsburg, 11:30pm. $30.
The dreamy Swedish quartet pits the engagingly imperfect singing of Yukimi Nagano against a languid band with an electronic edge. Get familiar with their latest, Nabuma Rubberband, because you'll surely hear from it here. Note that while this event is technically sold out, a limited number of cash-only tickets will be available at the door.

Red Hook FestLouis J. Valentino Jr. Park and Pier, Red Hook, 6pm. Free. 
This neighborhood cultural bash includes dance, music and spoken-word performances from local talent. Fun activities include free kayak rides and the Red Hook trivia contest. You can also check out visual art in the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition's Spring Pier Art Show.

Testament of Youth; Opens in theaters
The Ex Machina breakout star Alicia Vikander plays the legendary pacifist Vera Brittain in this lush and powerful adaptation of the feminist icon's formative years as a bystander to WWI.

Melissa McCarthy reteams with Bridesmaids director Paul Feig for an action comedy that spoofs the stultified gender roles of the James Bond films and lets comedic genius Rose Byrne play a Bulgarian arm dealer—what's not to like?

Dark Wonderland; Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, 7:30pm. $30, advance $25.
You won’t have to take a tumble down a rabbit hole to visit this modern-day wonderland, but you will have to hang out in Green-Wood Cemetery past sundown.

The Vaudevillians; Bringing up BabyLaurie Beechman Theatre at the West Bank Café, Hell's Kitchen, 7pm. $25, VIP $50, plus $20 minimum.
Beloved RuPaul's Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon (the alter ego of performer Jerick Hoffer) plays a saucy 1920s chanteuse who sings Jazz Age versions of modern pop hits in this new edition of the charming musical-comedy act. 

Fixed on the Roof: JDH + Dave P; Output, Williamsburg, 5pm. $10, free with R.S.V.P.
JDH and Dave P head to Output for another edition of their Fixed fiesta. Hosted by Oak, the two local favorites take on the roof for an afternoon of feel-good techno and delicious margarita slushies—the perfect way to start the weekend. Make sure to R.S.V.P. at goo.gl/3Hm0DJ for free entry!

White Lung + Obliterations; Knitting Factory, Williamsburg, 12pm. $12.
Here the group plays a Gov Ball After Dark show, in advance of its appearance at the big fest on June 6. Also on board are L.A.'s Obliterations, who dole out a breathless, frill-less hardcore beat down.

Alan Cumming: Alan Cumming Sings Sappy SongsCafé Carlyle (in the Carlyle Hotel), Lenox Hill, 8:45pm. $100-$165 plus $75 minimum.
The bright-eyed, bouncy-kneed Scottish stage-and-screen actor plays fast and louche with the cabaret format, sprinkling naughty words into long comic stories and putting a completely fresh interpretive spin on familiar songs. 

Love & Mercy; Opens in theaters
Beach Boys fans, catch a wave to this heartbreakingly good biopic of Brian Wilson. It’s offbeat, sensitive and cast with two dynamite actors: Paul Dano as the young genius, and John Cusack as the fragile, overmedicated adult who requires saving.

Global Family ReunionNew York Hall of Science, Queens, 11am. $30.
What do President Obama and Weird Al have in common? A bloodline! And at the first-ever Global Family reunion festival, you an discover some of your (very) distant relatives, too.

Dark Disco on the Roof: Pete Tong + Cranks + Total Fitness; Output, Williamsburg, 2pm. $TBA, advance $20.
Today MeanRed Productions takes to the roof at Output, hosting legendary BBC Radio 1 icon Pete Tong, as well as Safer at Night's Cranks and Total Fitness.

Figment NYC Weekend; Governors Island, 10am. Free.
Be one with art this weekend via 300 creative indie projects. Join in on live podcasts like Cozy Zone with Ben Weber, take nature selfies with Earth Frames and roam through cool installations.

The Wonderful World of Boning: Sex Ed with a Sense of Humor; Union Hall, Park Slope, 7:30pm. $8.
Sex educator Lux Alptraum invites you to watch classic educational videos on the subject as she provides commentary with the help of comedic friend Brendan McLaughlin. This may be less awkward than your junior-high class, but there'll be just as much giggling.

Billion Oyster Pavillion; Governors Island, 10am. Free. 
A billion oysters sounds like a lot, but the title of this installation created by architectural firm BanG Studio for this year's Figment NYC on Governors Island isn't a statement of fact.

New York City Ballet Spring 2015; David H. Koch Theater (at Lincoln Center), Upper West Side, 7:30pm. $59–$164.
Catch the final performances of the spring season when the dancers takes on several works by one of the 20th century's greatest choreographers, George Balanchine.

June 7

Egg Rolls, Egg Creams & EmpanadasMuseum at Eldridge Street, Chinatown, 12pm. Free.
The Lower East Side’s annual Chinese-Jewish block party—think dumpling demos, challah braiding and Peking opera performance—expands with empanadas this year to rep the neighborhood’s Puerto Rican community.

OutdoorFest; Various locations, 6pm. Free–$55.
New Yorkers are spending more time in the open air than we used to (thank you, bike lanes), but it’s still good to have a little push out the door. That’s exactly what OutdoorFest, a ten-day lineup of activities, classes and volunteering opportunities, aims to do.

Hot 97 Summer Jam; MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, 6:30pm. $81.20–$271.90.
Kendrick Lamar, supporting stellar album-of-the-year front-runner To Pimp a Butterfly, heads a diverse lineup at the annual hip-hop-radio blowout. 

ReSolute Boat Party: DJ Tennis + Tim Sweeney + moreCircle Line Sightseeing Cruises, 4pm. $TBA, advance $50.
ReSolute keeps its summer series going strong with a killer boat party featuring DJ Tennis, who founded the Life and Death label with Thugfucker's Greg Oreck, as well as Beats In Space radio's Tim Sweeney. More artists TBA, but we definitely recommend purchasing advance tickets before they sell out!

ASSSSCAT 3000; Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Chelsea, 7:30pm and 9:30pm. $10.
The show that made UCB famous, the theater's best improvisers and special guests from comedy monoliths (like SNL, 30 Rock) team up to create a show that is completely different every time. 

The New York Best Wings FestivalNYCB Theatre at Westbury, Long Island, 11am. $10–$95.
Bring your appetite to this food fest celebrating America's favorite bar snack, where you'll sample wings from some of the area's favorite restaurants and eateries, compete in wing-eating contests and witness the Best Buffalo Wings and Best Unique Flavor Wings championships. 

Mister SundayIndustry City, Midtown West, 5pm. $15.
Hometown heroes Mister Saturday Night (Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin) have released a mix CD, founded a label, played Beats in Space and toured the world. Now they blend the seasons of their parties for another Sunday Funday daytime dance jam at Shea Stadium, spinning their array of underground house, disco and techno rhythms for your dancing pleasure.
