He lives in a pineapple on the Great White Way! A SpongeBob SquarePants musical is officially coming to Broadway.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday, June 26, and previews will begin on November 6 with the show opening on December 4. It will play in the Palace Theatre, the current home of Sunset Boulevard.

Music for The SpongeBob Musical comes from Steven Tyler, Sara Bareilles, Lady Antebellum, Cyndi Lauper, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s and many, many more musicians seemingly chosen out of a hat. The cast features Ethan Slater as SpongeBob, the role he originated in the four-star Chicago production of the same show. Other stars include Gavin Lee as Squidward, Lilli Cooper as Sandy Cheeks and Danny Skinner as Patrick. And don't worry: The costumes are much less creepy than the ones found on the SpongeBob characters in Times Square.
