An NYC hotel is charging $20k to reserve lounge chairs at its pool

The best things in life are free. But don't tell that to the Dream Downtown. The Meatpacking District hotel is selling two lounge chair reservations at its outdoor pool for a cool $20,000. The reservations span the entire month of August, so when you really break it down the slots cost a mere $645 per day.

Of course, two lounge chairs aren't all you get for the astronomically high price—you can also get a daily chilled bottle of rosé, a poolside butler and access to the hotel's amenities like the persnickety PHD Rooftop bar, gym, spa and hair salon.

And although the pool itself might not boast any real views (aside from other wealthy New Yorkers), it is 50-feet-long with a heated-glass bottom. Plus, the sand covering the adjacent man-made "beach" is imported straight from sun-kissed shores of the Hamptons.
