Lane Bryant hosted a #PlusIsEqual march in Times Square this afternoon, and the rally is shaping up to be one of our favorite NYFW events ever! News flash: Zero is NOT a size and no one should feel pressured to have a “beach body” come Memorial Day. That’s why the plus-size shopping brand is pushing back against all the ignorant folks in the fashion industry that would rather praise thinness over body diversity.

You might have seen the much talked about #PlusIsEqual ad showcasing gorgeous plus-sized women dressed in black lingerie in NYC and the September issue of Vouge. As of Sept 14, the online campaign went live (plusisequal.com), and the brand announced, “67 percent off US women are sizes 14 to 34. But they’re underrepresented on billboards, magazines, TV…everywhere. We believe all women should be seen and celebrated equally.” We’re with you, Lane Bryant.

As of noon today, New Yorkers have been buzzing over body equality at the rally in Times Square, which featured TV personality Wendy Williams, model Ashley Graham and more. Check out the best images we found from the body empowering event and make sure to use the hashtag #PlusIsEqual to take a stand and, of course, show off your beautiful curves.
