When it comes to dating in New York most people don't exactly think: "You know what? I could do this in my sleep." Scears Lee is not most people.

The Bushwick-based performance artist is taking to the floor of Glasshouse for six hours tomorrow for an extended (and hopefully fruitful) slumber. After staying up for 24-hours straight, Lee will sleep on the floor of the gallery from 4-10pm, and invite onlookers to kiss his sleeping body. (All participants must agree to kiss the artist. This is a mandatory fun performance.)

If the kiss wakes Lee, then he will go on a date immediately following the event with the lucky participant. Lee says he "hopes to find a spiritual companion" with the piece, which is a reaction to "the immediacy of dating apps."

"I'm hoping to get a couple dates out of it," he tells Brokelyn.

See some of Lee's previous work below, and if you're feeling adventurous head to the East Williamsburg gallery tomorrow night to see the piece for yourself. Just don't forget to pack lip balm.
