You probably don't need us to tell you that country music is an increasingly big deal here in town. For proof, check out info on the upcoming FarmBorough Festival, going down on Randalls Island June 26–28, as well as our list of the best folk music venues in NYC. So trust us when we say that there's going to be a big, ol' line forming at Williamsburg's Rough Trade NYC on the morning of Tuesday, June 23. Starting at 11am that day, everyone who turns up at the store and either buys a CD copy of the new Kacey Musgraves album, Pageant Material, or preorders the LP, gets two wristbands good for entry to a free Musgraves show at Rough Trade that same night.

Who's Kacey Musgraves, you ask? According to two Time Out New York critics, the Texas singer-songwriter made one of the best albums of 2013, Same Trailer Different Park, and advance buzz on Pageant Material indicates that this one might be even better. (Check out lead single "Biscuits" below, a song that shows off Musgraves's patented blend of old-school charm and new-school wit.) Musgraves isn't playing FarmBorough, and she hasn't gigged in town since the fall of 2013. Translation: Tell your boss you've got a doctor's appointment a week from Tuesday; you know you want a pair of wristbands.
