As this year's summer concerts are starting to get announced, here's one you can add to your schedule. The 2016 BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival will open with a performance by local funk-soul powerhouse (and singers of some of our favorite holiday songs) Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings on June 8 at Prospect Park. That'll be the opening night of the free (suggested donation $3) BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! series. The organization also hosts ticketed "benefit" shows to support the park and the rest of the programming, with gigs from Tame Impala (June 14 and 15), Ray LaMontagne (June 22) and Beirut (August 2) on the schedule. Tickets for those are on sale now.
