Your downtown shopping experience is about to get a whole lot tastier thanks to the brand-new food hall that opened last night on Canal Street. Nearly a dozen food and drink vendors, firing up delicious international street foods and dishing out mouth-watering treats, are now open for business in the 12,000-square-foot Canal Street Market.

Housed in a landmark late 19th-century carriage house at the crossroads of Chinatown and Soho, the Canal Street Market is an airy, beautiful location that hosts small shops selling everything from floral designs and home decor to one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry. As you peruse skincare products, antique housewares and fair trade clothing snack on a delectable cone of Davey's Ice Cream or sip down a bubble milk tea from Boba Guys.

Customers who arrive with an empty stomach will gravitate to the Mediterranean wraps and sandwiches of ilili Box, the hearty ramen of Ippudo Kuro-Obi or Korean barbecue from Oppa. The market will also host restaurants on a rotating basis and occasional pop-up new concepts from seasoned chefs in the "CSM Lab," which is currently occupied by Lower East Side's Petee's Pie Company.

Canal Street Market is at 265 Canal Street (canalstreet.market). Food Hall opened daily, 10am-8pm.
