The Noguchi Museum hosts a dance performance and talk with Dutch designer Maria Blaisse in conjunction with the current presentation of Arduino (Breathing Sphere), a computer-controlled, motorized sphere of woven bamboo. On December 6 at 1pm, dancers Carrie Ellmore-Tallitsch, Sara Jimenez, Kimberly Mhoon and Cynthia Stanley, will perform with three of the bamboo structures. In addition, Blaisse will take part in a discussion on "Slow Ecology," moderated by the slowLab. It's a perfect excuse to visit the house of Noguchi, one of the most enticing specialty museums in the city and dedicated to the work of Japanese artist Isamu Noguchi. His collaborations with Martha Graham are legendary. Now dance and design live on. Breathing Sphere remains on view at the museum through January 4. Here is a preview: .
