Dapper app offers free dates and drinks in Manhattan through January

Dating in New York gets a bad reputation. Sure, it’s hard to date in this city, but it’s not for lack of romantic spots and activities—weeding out the weirdos is just downright tough these days.

There are several New York-centric dating apps (some, better than others) at your service. Few, however, offer a “no creeps” policy—unlike the clever developers from Dapper, who seem to be tuned into your diary filled with woes and tales of empty one-night stands.

The idea behind the app is great—circumvent the creeper factor by creating an eHarmony-like dating profile, which displays your photo, interests and availability. Then, Dapper matches you with individuals whom you might be compatible and let’s you choose your next date. There’s no awkward messaging back-and-forth and best of all, the first drink is on Dapper.

In order to bring a little positivity amid the generally cutthroat dating scene, Dapper is offering a promotion from now until January 15th where the dates (normally costs $14 each) and the drinks are free. Plus, in honor of welcoming 2015, the app’s first 15th match this week will receive an extravagant NYE date, including free drinks, dinner and an activity (e.g. theatre tickets, live music) of their choice.

Dapper is partnered with some of New York’s finest wine bars and lounges, such as VinoTapa and Barramundi. So, if you hate the pressure of choosing the perfect date spot and boring surface-level conversations, this app has you covered in more ways than one.
