Everything to know about the new Museum of Ice Cream

Here's the scoop. New York City is getting a Museum of Ice Cream, an entire exhibit devoted to the frozen stuff—the pop-up, which will have samples of the city’s best ice cream flavors, opens in the Meatpacking District this summer. When does the Museum of Ice Cream open?

For the grand opening on July 29, head there from 11am3pm for free admission (and ice cream)!

From July 29 through August 31, it will be open Mon 11am9pm, WedSat 11am9pm, Sun 11am8pm.

Where is the Museum of Ice Cream?

100 Gansevoort Street. That’s right down the block from the Whitney Museum of American Art.

What can you do at the Museum of Ice Cream?

Swim in a pool of rainbow sprinkles (not edible ones, unfortunately), sample edible balloons, explore an immersive chocolate room, ride the ice cream sandwiches swing or the ice cream scooper see-saw and find your flavor match in Tinder Land. 

What can you eat at the Museum of Ice Cream?

Of course there’s ice cream tasting—sample customized ice cream in Dr. Irwin Adam’s studio. The Scoop of the Week lineup from from the city’s best ice cream shops, including OddFellowsBlack Tap and more, means you’ll have a reason to return every week. (Gotta taste them all.)

How do I get tickets to the Museum of Ice Cream?

Tickets are available on the museum's website. Single Scoop solo tickets are $18, and the Double Scoop couple package is $30. Ticket prices include a Scoop of the Week and studio custom tasting.
