The ninth circle of hell to some, midtown is the beating heart of our city. And we consider ourselves pretty fortunate to live in a place where we can hit all of the popular budget-friendly chains—Urban Outfitters, Zara, Aritzia, Topshop—and Saks Fifth Avenue without having to bust out a MetroCard. Blogger Lisa Dengler of just-another.me seemed like the perfect expert to send to the tourist trap. So can you cop her less-is-more style for, well, less? That’s a big yes. And Dengler plans to come back soon. “I love that you can shop on a budget here but still be inspired by contemporary designer collections,” she says.

Zara style scarf, $10, at Zara, 500 Fifth Ave (212-741-0555, zara.com)

"Neck ties are HUGE right now, and I love the idea of having a longer silhouette, which gives it that hint of elegance."

Talula Brackenbury pants, $65, at Aritzia, 600 Fifth Ave (212-307-3121, us.aritzia.com)

"This is a new silhouette that I love for fall because it's the perfect pair of pants to layer under tunics and wear with ankle boots."

Topshop high-neck ribbed-funnel top, $25, at Topshop, 608 Fifth Ave (212-757-8240, topshop.com)

"This top is a must-have to wear on its own, or to layer underneath sweaters to give the perfect amount of neck coverage."

Adidas Originals Stan Smith Vulc sneakers, $70, at Urban Outfitters, 521 Fifth Ave (212-867-4107, urbanoutfitters.com)
