You already know that Black Friday is the biggest and craziest shopping day of the year. But several brands have already started their holiday deals as early as, well, yesterday. We’ve scoped out some of the best discounts leading up to the retail madness. Whether you’re in the market for gifts for your friends and family—or just yourself—you’ll want to have a plan ready. So, in the spirit of gift giving, here are the five New York Black Friday sales we think you should check out after (or before) Thanksgiving. And since you need to refuel between shopping ventures, don't forget to check out some of New York's finest restaurants dishing out cheap eats in honor of Black Friday, too.

1. Make Up For Ever

Makeup products are great stocking stuffers and this top-notch beauty brand is selling its current top sellers for less. Popular items such as MAKE UP FOR EVER’s Aqua shadow, eyeliner and lip liner are marked two for ten bucks. And now's your chance to snag one of the Make Up Artist Pick Sets ($150, generally $300) or Artisan brush sets ($34, instead of $65) while supplies last.

2. Aritzia

This chain’s five-day Black Friday sale allows you to shop the store’s current stock of winter and holiday wares without having to stop in on the biggest shopping day of the year. And with deals marked up to 60 percent off, it won’t be hard to find presents for your best friends and, of course, a gift for yourself. Scoop up cold weather basics such as Wilfred for Aritzia knit cardigans  ($99, originally $165) and Paradise Mine for Artzia low-rise, dark-wash jeggings ($68, usually $125).

3.  Bloomingdale’s

Set your alarm because the deals start as early as 7am at this department store. Expect plenty of deals and holiday offerings, like $25 off a cozy selection of women’s cashmere sweaters, an extra 25 percent off almost every style of men’s cashmere and wool sweaters, and 50 percent off a selection of men’s suits and trousers. Other impressive deals include 60 percent off exclusive diamond fine jewelry and 30 percent off reduced-priced shoes—but only until 1pm.

4. Bird

Fashion-forward Black Friday shoppers should flock to this favorite boutique for up to 40 percent off select designer wares. The prices are still on the steep side, but it’s worth checking out all three locations to find splurgey items like Alexander Wang neoprene-cotton oversize coats ($675, now $469), Rachel Comey floral jacquard dresses ($369, were $525) and Isabel Marant Pealman python pumps ($599, originally $995).

5. Steve Madden

Apart from deals on shoes and handbags, there are a couple of good reasons to shop at this famous outpost on Black Friday. With every purchase, shoppers will receive a one-of-a-kind bangle with a custom charm from Alex and Ani and better yet, you won’t have to carry all those heavy shoeboxes and bags home by yourself. Shoppers will receive a code for an Uber voucher that can be used anytime, to bring you and your new accessories back home, safe and sound.
