Get ready to start guzzling sweet, alcoholic soda

Hot on the heels of the buzzy new alcoholic root beer trend, it’s looking like boozy versions of pretty much everything else at your local soda fountain will be popping up in bodegas soon.

Chicago-based brewery MillerCoors—the company behind Blue Moon and Miller Lite—will start selling Henry’s Hard Ginger Ale and Henry’s Hard Orange Sodas in six packs for around $8.99 in January. The sodas for discerning adults will be sweetened with pure cane sugar and contain 4.2% alcohol by volume with more bubbly booze options to come in the future. (What's next, alcoholic water?)

Whether or not the new spiked offerings go the way of Zima or manage to achieve the mad staying power of frat party standard Mike’s Hard Lemonade, remains to be seen. Instead of Smirnoff Ice, we could all be hard oranging each other next summer.
