Season one of the epically popular Serial, ranked number one on iTunes for several weeks and hosted by This American Life's Sarah Koenig, follows the 1999 investigation in Baltimore of the murder of high school student Hae Min Lee. The plotline focuses around her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, who was convicted of first-degree murder in her killing, and is still in prison today. But should he actually be there? That is the question.
The most recent episode explored Syed's defense lawyer, the once highly acclaimed Maria Cristina Gutierrez, who was dissbarred just one year after losing Syed's case.
