If you’re in a car that happens to be traveling through Midtown East tonight, prepare to reach your final destination sometime in 2017.

On top of the ongoing traffic and pedestrian nightmare that is White House North (#JusticeForKaren), the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting is also happening tonight! That means that 48th St, 49th St, 50th St and 51st between Fifth and Sixth Avenue are all subject to closures.

That, of course, is on top of the heavily policed area from 53rd to 57th St. between Madison and Sixth Avenues that is also subject to street closures, and the giant concrete barriers on East 56th St. between Fifth and Madison Avenues that are currently in place to protect Trump Tower.

Oh, and also it will be raining tonight so good luck getting a cab in the first place. This is what happens when you don’t invite Mariah Carey to your tree lighting ceremony, people!!
