For those who feel passionately about New York nightlife, it’s easy to feel nostalgic about the scene’s halcyon days in the late 70s and early 80s. Next weekend, a two-day extravaganza is hoping to capture some of the magic of that time with two all-night ragers.

I Feel Love” will be taking over a warehouse in Crown Heights for the disco blowout which bills itself as “an immersive music experience reimagining late 70s nightclub culture.” The event will be somewhere between a party, a concert and an immersive show with DJs spinning all night and performers working their way through the crowd.

On that note, the organizers behind the event warn that anyone who attends should be comfortable “standing, walking climbing stairs, being touched, interacting with participants and being alone.” Oh, also nudity. In addition, mobile phone use is discouraged. Dancing, however. Dancing is very much encouraged.

The event is being produced by Casablanca Records in association with Discord, a music management and experience creation company. The founder of the latter company, Toby Benson, says that he wanted to throw the event as response to what he sees as the increasing homogeny of current nightclub culture, where bottle service often reigns over music.

In addition to a special performance by disco legend Giorgio Moroder and an appearance from Studio 54 icon Nicky Siano, contemporary DJs Armand Van Helden, Jackmaster, Soul Clap, Oliver and Kungs will also be on the decks. Other than that, most of what will be happening over the course of the night is, not surprisingly, being kept under wraps.

You can buy tickets for both the Friday and Saturday night parties here.
