The Landmarks Preservation Commission unveiled a new interactive map that lets you explore the more than 33,000 landmarks across the five boroughs.

Discover NYC Landmarks provides information on specific buildings, historic districts, vintage photographs and more. Selecting a point on the map will bring up specific facts about the site including the building's architect and when it was first constructed.

You can also search for a specific landmarks, and see what city-designated landmarks are closest to that you never knew about. (For instance, I never knew I lived in a historic district! You learn something new every day.)

Check out the map here.
