Kanye to perform for free at Madison Square Park today

Kanye, ladies and gentlemen. We repeat, Kanye West—aka Yeezy, aka Yeezus, aka The Louis Vuitton Don —is headlining a FREE show tonight at Flatiron Plaza, right outside of Madison Square Park, as part of NBA All-Star Weekend. The 45-minute concert is called the First Annual Roc City Classic, and Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder will be there too, doing basketball things. But really though, Durant will actually make a guest appearance to talk about his new role as brand ambassador for Sonic Drive-In.

Apparently not everyone is excited about Mr.Controversy's big show, though. The gig will close all streets between 23rd and 26th, sparking complaints from Flatiron District locals about the expected noise and crowds. Up to 10,000 people are expected to attend tonight, and though tickets are technically sold out (they were gifted by New York City's Power 105.1 FM), the great thing about public concerts is you don't necessarily need a pass to enjoy the show. The park will not be closed off, so you are welcome to hover as close to you like to the action.

The First Annual Roc City Classic starring Kanye West and Kevin Durant is at Flatiron Triangle, 23rd St and Broadway, at 6pm tonight.
