Lyft is offering free DeLorean rides tomorrow because Back to the Future is awesome

If you're going to hail a cab, why not do it with some style? To celebrate Back to the Future's 30th anniversary, along with Marty McFly and Doc Brown's arrival to the future on October 21, 2015 in Back to the Future II, Lyft and Verizon are offering free service... in DeLoreans. From 11am–5pm tomorrow, users of the Lyft rideshare app can switch to "McFly Mode," and, if they're lucky, catch a ride in a flux capacitor-free whip.

The Verizon #whynotwednesday promotion entitles you to free Lyft service of up to 20 minutes throughout the city. Competition to score a DeLorean will be fierce, so be sure not to give up on trying. If you manage to get lucky on Lyft, be sure to roll down your window and rejoice in screams of "Great Scott!" and "1.21 Jiggawatts!" by astonished pedestrians.

If you're too wired from your ride to return to life as you know it, then take a break and indulge in a celebratory glass of milk. Chocolate.
