Meet Bernadette Peters, Gloria Estefan and cute dogs at Broadway Barks this Saturday

We all know about The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, and Cats is set to re-open after 16 years: That’s a lot of cute, four-legged critters running around Broadway. And we’re not even including Broadway Barks! Yes, the star-studded, outdoor pet-adoption event is back for more furry fun. The next Barks takes place Saturday, July 30 in Shubert Alley (between 44th and 45th Sts, between Broadway and Eighth Ave) from 3pm to 6:30pm. Broadway royalty Bernadette Peters hosts alongside Broadway newcomer and pop goddess Gloria Estefan. Broadway Barks is free and open to the public.

Come early and get a special treat at 12 noon, when Peters and Estefan will appear in the alley and sign copies of the 2016 Broadway Barks poster and Playbill designed by James McMullan. Posters and Playbills will be for sale with 100% of the proceeds going to Broadway Barks. In addition, they will be debuting a new Broadway Barks bracelet, which will also be on sale with all proceeds benefiting Broadway Barks!

The idea is to combine beloved Broadway actors with prospective owners of cats and dogs in need of a home. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS produces the event, which features hundreds of adoptable animals from 27 rescue groups. The lineup of talented (two-legged) guests include:
