Anyone who’s pulled up a stool at a New York City bar and ordered something shaken, stirred or on draft knows how highly we value our favorite watering holes. From upscale cocktail dens to neighborhood dives, great bars are one of the city’s specialities. That’s why each year we honor the standouts with our Bar Awards.

For the 2016 edition, every Time Out team across the world enlisted a panel of local industry experts to help name its city’s best drinking spots. Here in New York, 14 knowledgeable insiders, including bartenders Meaghan Dorman (of Raines Law Room, Dear Irving and the Bennett) and Jim Kearns (of the Happiest Hour and Slowly Shirley), nominated the bars they believe deserve recognition.
The winners will be featured in our May 18 issue and honored at an awards party on Monday 16 at midtown lounge Arena. (Grab tickets before they're gone!)
