Each week, we take two New Yorkers who swear they're totally undateable, and put our matchmaking skills to the test. Afterward, we find out what went well on their date, and what went horribly, horribly wrong.

Why they're single:
Beth: Has a lot of first dates but doesn’t usually feel like going on a second one
Chris: It’s hard to find people who vibe with the things he finds funny

Ideal date:
Beth: Playing Ping-Pong and drinking a cold IPA
Chris: A place to get food and drinks that’s not too loud

First impression
Beth: “He had a huge smile on his face and came up and gave me a big hug, and that kinda took away all the awkwardness and nervousness.”
Chris: “I’d never been on a blind date before, so I was nervous. She was really pretty, had a beautiful smile and was very friendly, so I felt immediately at ease.”

Chemistry
Beth: “The whole time there was a fun, playful vibe. At one point we had two dozen oysters brought out, so I challenged him to see how many he could eat in one minute.”
Chris: “There was never a lull at any point, and we were there for over three hours. We talked about our dating history, where we’re from, living in New York, everything.”

Awkward Moment
Beth: “We were sitting there for, like, 45 minutes without food or anything, so we eventually had to flag down the manager. But we got it eventually!”
Chris: “There weren’t really any awkward moments. She has a really great sense of humor, so I was laughing a lot. So, I guess there were quite a few funny moments.”

Afterward
Beth: “We took the train home together, and I had to get off and change to another train, which happened to be his stop, so he got off and waited on the platform with me.”
Chris: “We strolled back to the subway together, rode it together, and we talked some more. We exchanged numbers and made plans for a second date.”

Verdict
Beth: ♥♥♥♥♥ “He’s already asked me on a second date, and I don’t know. I think he’s more interested than I might be, even though I think he’s a really nice guy.”
Chris: ♥♥♥♥♥ “I think I kinda lucked out because you go into a blind date not knowing what to expect at all, and it turned out to be probably one of the best dates that I’ve had.”
