Each week, we take two New Yorkers who swear they're totally undateable, and put our matchmaking skills to the test. Afterward, we find out what went well on their date, and what went horribly, horribly wrong.
The date: Bowling and snacks at Frames (550 9th Ave, 212-268-6909)
First impression
Christian: “She was easy to talk to and had a fun demeanor. She’s into comedy, which is something I don’t find every day. I thought she was a pretty girl.”
Laura: “He was wearing a button-up shirt, so I thought he was a finance dude and wouldn’t like my sense of humor. But he’s hilarious, personable and outgoing.”
Chemistry
Christian: “We stopped to chat after bowling two frames. She was quick to laugh and easy to make laugh. I wouldn’t be surprised if something sparked as we got to know each other.”
Laura: “It’s hard to tell about chemistry—he’s not somebody I’d normally be attracted to, but he has such a cool way about him. It made me think things through a little more.”
Afterward
Christian: “It was a two-pronged goodbye—I walked her to the subway and kissed her on the cheek. But then I was like, ‘Oh, wait, let me get your number.’ So then we said goodbye again.”
Laura: “He bought me a drink, then walked me to the Bryant Park stop. He might have been going in to kiss me, but I thought it was a hug. It ended up on my cheek.”
Awkward Moment
Christian: “When we were walking, a bag of garbage moved like a rat was in there, and she jumped. So we switched sides, but three seconds later, some guy rammed into her.”
Laura: “I thought he was suggesting a second drink, and I went on this tangent about all the stuff I had to do at home. He was like, ‘That’s fine. I just asked if you wanted to get going.’ ”

Laura: Christian is "funny, open-minded and generous.”
Verdict
Christian: ♥♥♥ “She was really fun and interesting. I’d be down to hang out again to see if it would be more of a friendship or a possible romantic thing.”
Laura: ♥♥♥♥♥ “I was surprised to be matched with someone so fun. I think he’d get along with my friends. He asked what I was up to Saturday, so I’m sure I’ll see him around.”
