Seed Street is an organization founded by Leigh Ofer and Hannah Bonfman that transforms freight containers into hydroponic farms. The farms provide access to healthy and nutritious foods for low-income communities, and the pilot program is currently under way at the Children’s Aid Society in East Harlem.

The innovate freight farms not only provide healthy organic food to the community, but also hosts health and wellness education classes, provides job training and organizes events like nutrition workshops.

This Saturday, the pilot container in Harlem was transformed by local kids, working alongside Billy the Artist, into a bright and lively mural. See photos of the transformation below and find out more about about Seed Street here.
