The things people are willing to do in a crappy economy…

Alana Reli, a bartender at Local 138 posted a joke ad on Craigslist a week ago that advertised the dive bar’s grungy bathroom for rent. For $30-a-week, the listing promised a “Manhattan ZIP code for Ohio prices” and even though “the neighbors are kind of shitty, you can’t beat this price!”

Even though the listing included clear photos of the bathroom as well as a detailed explanation about having to use the shower at the Comfort Inn next door, Reali was soon flooded with hundreds of applicants interested in the unorthodox digs.

“I’m looking for a cheap place while I get on my feet and make the transition from Texas,” wrote on respondent says the New York Post. “This place is perfect for me and I am interested,” wrote another.

Have an under-developed sense of smell and interested in making an offer? The listing's still up.
