They've finally done it. A new interactive "Food Capitals of Instagram" map now shows which major cities boast the highest number of hashtagged posts for 18 different foods, ranging from burgers and pizza to currywurst and xiao long bao.
We know what you're thinking. As the food capital of the whole stinkin' world (let alone Instagram), New York must have topped every single list. But don't hold your breath. While we slid easily into first place with bacon, empanadas and pizza (beating Italy itself), we were outmatched by Singapore and South Korea in macarons and came in a disappointing second to London in pulled pork and burgers. Other key findings include a Japanese curry craze, poutine's lack of traction outside of Canada and LA's mecca of burritos and Korean bulgogi.
