Exciting news for squash players everywhere! (Are there many of you? I'm not sure, to be honest.) NYC's first public squash court is opening in Hamilton Fish Park on the Lower East Side sometime next month.

The Public Squash Foundation is bringing an all-glass, all-weather court to the park, reports Bowery Boogie. The Foundation wanted to bring the game of squash to the public and help break down its elitist reputation. It will be available to the public for year-round play (and you can also check out handball walls and the pool). The park is a recreation center that has rental equipment and locks up at night, so the court should stay in prime condition. Stay tuned for an official opening date!

And in the meantime, head to the other amazing outdoor and park spaces around the city.
