NYPD discussing possible Fifth Avenue shutdown whenever Trump’s in town

The chaotic situation around Trump Tower hasn’t improved much since election day with a steady stream of gawking tourists, vocal protestors and wealthy women desperately trying to figure out a way to still shop at Gucci.

With Trump hinting that he might be pulling a partial-Bloomberg with the White House, it seems increasingly likely that we’re in for four years of Midtown traffic nightmares.

NBC 4 New York is reporting that the Secret Service and NYPD are currently discussing plans to either close one lane of Fifth Avenue or completely shutting down parts of it whenever the President-Elect is in town (which could be every weekend). Changes to East 56th, East 57th St and Madison Avenue are on the table as well.

But don’t worry, Trump Grill is still open for business.
