Sleater-Kinney is back! After an eight-year silence, the riot-grrrl icons have reemerged with a new, critically acclaimed LP and a four month tour. To mark the band's welcome return, we caught up with the trio and talked about everything from Taylor Swift to Feminism. (And why they felt it was finally time to release new music.)

For the cover shot, singer-guitarists Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker, as well as drummer Janet Weiss took to the streets of New York and recreated the cover of their 1999 album, The Hot Rock.

See outtakes from our shoot with the band and read more about their new album, No Cities To Love, before they play Terminal 5 on February 26 and 27.
