Get your funky high-heels and most fashionable winter coat ready, New York. Tomorrow is the first day of Fashion Week and there will be tons of stylish bloggers, editors and models parading around Lincoln Center. But it’s pretty hard to strut your stuff when it’s so damn cold out there!
What’s one of the most common New York hacks to make your life easier during this bone-chilling winter? Warming your belly with a piping hot bowl of soup, of course!
There are plenty of soul-warming bowls of stews and more available in NYC. But if you have a Twitter account, you could score a free lunch tomorrow. Brooklyn-based vegan “micro-soupery,” The Splendid Spoon, will be giving away over 1,000 ounces of soup between 11am–2pm in honor of New York Fashion Week. All you need to do is tweet to @SplendidSpoonNY and let them know whether you’d rather indulge in flavors such as butternut turmeric or mushroom with steel-cut oats.
Spooners will be handing out delicious potages around Lincoln Center—but don't fret, you don’t need tickets to the runway in order to enjoy free soup (or any other NYFW perks). There are a bunch of free and affordable Fashion Week events you can actually attend.
