Security increased across New York after terror attack in Brussels

After terrorist attacks killed at least 28 people at Brussel’s main international aiport and a subway station today, security has been ramped up in NYC as a precaution.

Counterterrorism officers have been stationed in crowded areas and major transit hubs across the city.

The Director of Communications for the NYPD released the following statement this morning:

Meanwhile, Mayor De Blasio tweeted this regarding the Brussels terrorist attacks.

So expect to see a lot of police officers around the city today.
