Shakespeare in Bryant Park is back!

They say all the world’s a stage and Bryant Park proves, once again, that this phrase is true with the return of the its second annual Shakespeare theater series under the stars.

A few free outdoor theater performances are already in-action, but here’s another one to add to the must-see list. Tonight at 6:30pm, The Drilling Company invites you to the first of three productions, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, in Bryant Park.

The classic (directed by Hamilton Clancy), will run from May 15 through May 31 in the Upper Terrace, followed by the tale of two star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet (directed by Dave Marantz) on July 10 through July 26 at the Bryant Park Stage. And for the grand finale, the series finishes off with The Taming of the Shrew, in the Upper Terrace, September 4 through September 20. What a better way to end your summer-time sadness than with a screwball comedy, right?

Make sure you check Bryant Park’s schedule for the exact performance dates. Isn't this just another reason why the outdoors is the best place to spend your summer in NYC? We think so.
