Just in time for the gift-giving season, South Street Seaport has been transformed into a holiday shopping destination, filled with winter activities that could cheer up even the Scroogiest New Yorker.

The Seaport's ice-staking rink will be offering special programs, including curling lessons, live performances, silent disco-skating and a Dandy Wellington vintage skate. Plus, there are a few one-of-a-kind shops boasting offerings from three exclusive holiday retailers. Browse fashionable wares like leather biker jackets and band tees from Christian Benner (FYI: This designer dresses Lady Gaga), trendy sandals by Brother Vellies and hard-to-find vintage items from Whisper Editions.

From shopping to skating, you can expect the festivities to last through the holiday season, but tonight, you definitely don’t want to miss this festive market's tree lighting ceremony. Starting at 5:45pm, enjoy musical acts from the String Angels and the Harlem Gospel choirs leading into a special performance from Margot B. before the official tree lighting at 6:15pm. And once the tree is twinkling, jam out to Bebe Rexha, DJ Prostyle and a finale from Grammy award winner, Questlove.

So get ready to shop, skate and rock out. Can't get enough tree lighting? Don't worry, there's plenty of Christmas events happening all month long.
