News flash: Fall trends are so retro this season. But why pay $100 or more for a ’70s-inspired patent leather skirt when you can snag the real deal for $10 or less? You can always raid your mom’s closet in hopes that she saved that suede trench coat she wore in college, but we’ll do you one better. We scoured New York’s top-notch vintage shopping scene and discovered that these four stores have you covered—with throwback prices to match.

RECOMMENDED: See the fall fashion style guide

For the’70s child: Urban Jungle

You’d think That ’70s Show was coming back for its ninth season based on how many major throwbacks we spotted on the runways. We’re talking large autumnal floral prints that match the crazy (but charming) couch at your grandma’s place, plus vintage silhouettes like suede jackets ($20), wide-leg jeans ($10) and patent leather midi skirts ($5), which can all be found at this Bushwick gem. Best find? A pair of pointed-toe snakeskin boots for $15. Yow! 120 Knickerbocker Ave, Brooklyn (718-381-8510, ltrainvintage.com)

For ’80s glam: AuH2O Thriftique

Anyone who wasn’t alive during the ’80s kind of wishes they had been, if only for the wardrobe (minus harem pants, of course). Luckily, it’s not too late to take some style inspiration from the iconic rock goddesses of the era: Debbie Harry, Alannah Myles, and Joan Jett. These cool chicks dressed in vinyl, black velvet, and gunmetal all the damn time, and you can find similar on-trend duds for less than $50 at this East Village staple. In fact, the ’80s metallic jacket ($16) and velvet body suit ($12) we recently found left us plenty of dough left over for all the rounds of Ms. Pac-Man we could take. 84 E 7th St (212-466-0844, auh2oshop.com)

For ’60s jewels: Pippin Vintage

Okay, so fall fashion isn’t only referencing old silhouettes, it’s upping the ante by bringing back ’60s-inspired jewels, too. Back then no outfit was complete without a chunky set of pearls ($15 and up) or turquoise baubles for the hippie-chic set ($22 and up). So get in touch with your inner mod by sifting through Pippin Vintage’s antique (but affordable) accessories, and then go find a love-in to join. 112 W 17th St (212-505-5159, pippinvintage.com)

For ’90s goth: Arbor Vitae Vintage Clothing

By all means, cling to your quintessential all-black New York wardrobe, because the ’90s goth trend is back. But maybe ditch the skulls and instead hit up this Williamsburg shop for black lace dresses with bell sleeves ($15), long military-style trench coats ($20–$25) and chunky leather boots ($25–$35) that our spirit animal Veronica from the cult film Heathers would totally approve of. 238 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn (864-663-3463, @thearborvitae)
