Selfie lovers, you're about to be rewarded for your narcissism. To raise awareness about the free Wi-Fi available in some subway stations, Transit Wireless (the company that oversees the Wi-Fi) is launching a six week competition today to award photo-snapping riders. Here's how to enter: Take a pic of yourself in the subway with the station name or Wi-Fi sign in the background. Then share the photo on Instagram or Twitter with #subwayselfie, or upload the pic on the Transit Wireless website or the TransitWirelessWifI Facebook page. You can vote on the best selfies by liking the photos, and then a panel of judges will pick a winner from the top 10 photos that get the most likes each week. The winner gets a $100 MetroCard. Selfies will be judged on creativity and originality, so feel free to have fun with your underground self-portrait.

Transit Wireless, in partnership with the MTA, is responsible for the installation of wireless connectivity throughout the 279 underground NYC subway stations. So if you’ve ever timed an email or text message to send while pulling into a subway station, or taken a call underground while waiting for a train, you have them to thank. Currently, 47 stations in New York have wireless and Wi-Fi services available. The entire system is expected to be connected by 2017.

At the end of the six week competition, the judges will pick one grand prize winner and award them a free iPad mini—which, in 47 stations at least, the selfie champ will be able to use on the subway.
