TGI Friday's to deploy mistletoe drone army on unsuspecting Brooklyn diners

The appetizer-happy chain TGI Friday's is bringing an innovative marketing stunt to their Sheepshead Bay location tonight: As diners casually work their way through pan-seared pot stickers and sesame jack chicken, a server-operated drone will stealthily work its way through the dining room, targeting vulnerable couples for a little holiday action.

Attached to each drone is a sprig of mistletoe and a camera, encouraging diners to give one another a quick smooch (which, of course, will be captured by the flying robot). Couples that kiss will be given a gift card. Because nothing says romance like free mozzarella sticks.

“At Friday's, we decided to put a little extra ‘happy’ into the holidays by rolling out the Mobile Mistletoe this December,” explained Brian Gies, chief marketing officer of TGI Friday's. “We’re inviting friends to get together to enjoy a more spirited holiday season inspired by a little Mobile Mistletoe mischief.”

The festive robots invade Sheepshead Bay for one night only, but if their mission is successful and the corporate overlords are pleased, you can expect to see more poisonous berries hovering over diners' dinners at additional NYC locations soon.
