Explore art galleries after hours at Dumbo's First Thursday Gallery Walk
If you've seen it all in Chelsea, trek to Dumbo for a night of free gallery-hopping from 18 different institutions—there will even be an art project projected onto the Manhattan Bridge. If you're thirsty, stop by one of the local happy hours before checking out the art.
Dumbo, 5pm–10pm, free

Shop till you drop at the Badgley Mischka sample sale
In the past, we found dresses starting at $50 from this runway-favorited brand (we’re hoping to get lucky again), but metallic silver corded lace strapless gowns ($198, were $795) and boucle bandeau crop tops ($43, originally $175) should not be overlooked this time around.
260 Sample Sale, 11am, through Aug 9

Rock out with U.S. Girls and Yuck at RiverRocks
This free series brings buzzy indie-rock tunes to the shores of the Hudson River. Tonight, U.S. Girls brings its warped, chintzy lo-fi soul with London indie-rock trio Yuck.
Hudson River Park, Pier 84, 6pm, free
