The creators of Serial are coming to BAM—live!

It's been a few months since peak Serial fervor has died down, but there are plenty of fans out there who want more, more, more. Now, some lucky New Yorkers will get the chance to hear Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder, creators of the addicting podcast, speak at BAM this fall! The talk will be on Sept 25 at 8pm at the Howard Gilman Opera House, and you can buy tickets beginning June 9 (or June 2 if you're a BAM member). Prices range from $35-$65.

Koenig and Snyder will discuss the formation of the show and how it became the world's most popular podcast, downloaded 80 million times, and the first podcast to ever receive a Peabody Award. They'll tell behind-the-scenes tidbits and talk about their storytelling mechanisms—and maybe they'll even give some fresh insight into Adnan Syed's ongoing motion for post-conviction relief, or less prison time. He is currently appealing the denial of his motion based at least in part by evidence from the podcast that showed his lawyer, Christina Gutierrez, may have been incompetent, Slate reports. Asia McClain, a potential alibi witness whom Gutierrez never contacted, may finally testify on his behalf as well. The case continues...
