Like many people these days, Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, has a side hustle. No, he's not driving for Lyft or offering to write essays for college applicants: He's been playing guitar, covering Eagles tunes and writing songs. He's penned more than 400 tunes over the past year, according to his bio, and plans to release 200 of the ditties by dropping an EP a month for the next two years. For a sampling of those—let's say 10 or so from the stash—head to the Cutting Room this Thursday, June 22, where Scarborough will celebrate the release of his new EP, Mystified. Tickets are free (grab one here) but there is a $20 food/drink minimum.

Speaking of folks with side gigs, James Dolan—executive chairman of MSG, owner of the Knicks and Rangers—is playing a show the same night at City Winery. That band, JD & The Straight Shot, is fresh off a gig opening for none other than....that's right the Eagles' Don Henley.

For a taste of Thursday night's set, check out Scarborough jamming with Jon Batiste and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert band below (music starts around 4:21).
