The search for Time Out New York’s next food and drink expert

Do you love to eat? Are you the go-to person in your squad for picking restaurants? Do you go home after a meal and journal about it for fun? Most importantly, are you a talented writer with a strong, colorful voice looking for your next big break? Well then, we want to hear from you!

Here’s the deal: We’re on the hunt to crown the city’s next great food writer. You don’t have to have any professional experience as a critic—just a passion for New York City’s culinary scene and the world of eating. The winner will be profiled in an issue of Time Out New York, and their winning review will be published on our site.

To apply, use the form below to submit a review of the last place you visited—it can be any bar or restaurant in NYC. All sample reviews must be submitted by September 21. Then the 10 applicants with the strongest reviews will face off in a live challenge, in which they’ll try a new restaurant and turn around a review in one night. Whoever comes up with the strongest critique will be our winner!
