Nerd out at the GeekFest Film Fest
This new touring festival gives budding filmmakers, superfans, web series stars and convention chroniclers the chance to connect with their brethren and gain new fans. This second edition of the fest features the full-length documentary Cosplayer Nation, shorts such as Sharkasaurus and fan films like Nightwing: Prodigal.
Gotham West Market, 600 Eleventh Ave, 6pm, $10/screening, $25/night, $40/both nights

Dance to Drizzy at So Far Gone: Drake Night
Why should all-night tribute parties only be held for Madonna and Michael Jackson? If you're ready for a never-ending marathon of tracks by your favorite Canadian Jewish rap superstar, then hit Baby's All Right's glorious back room and jam to thrusting sets by Mad Decent collaborator Dirty South Joe and Factory Girls' Gun$ Garcia.
Baby's All Right, 146 Broadway, Brooklyn, 11:30pm, $5-$10

See the gender-fluid side of Comic Con at the Crossplay Cosplay Contest
For fans and cosplayers who find the general convention floor too…conventional, this party creates a vibrant space for gender and race superhero switch-ups. Male Catwomen and female Banes are welcome to chat, strut and pose in their inventive glory. We're hoping for an appearance from the West Coast's Gender Bent Justice League.
Latitude, 783 Eighth Ave, 8pm, $10, cosplayers $5
